Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Donuts
It absolutely comes down to better nutrition habits. Someone once told me, you can’t get results if you eat donuts. Well, that’s a lie! You can absolutely have your cake and eat it too. Or in this case- chocolate peanut butter protein donuts! After bringing home donuts for the kids on Saturday I’ve been craving donuts. And where I’m all for balance and eating the donut or tacos or pizza or whatever, I’m also all for making healthier swaps too! I spent a little time in the kitchen this week working on an easy, delicious breakfast for me and Luke for the next few days. These yummy chocolate peanut butter…

2022 Summer Bucket List
Summer is Here!!! And it’s time for our Bucket List! The annual #RobertsFamilySummerBucketList is here and we are ready for it!! Years ago when these kids were tiny, we started this tradition of creating a bucket list of all the adventures we want to do around the St. Louis area during the summer. What started as a way to keep us all busy during the summer and a reason to explore more of the city and all that it has to offer, turned into an annual tradition that we all look forward to each year. I read a quote once that said, “We only get 18 summers with our kids. Might…

Do What You Love…
I walked in on my kids doing what they love the other day… watching some ridiculous YouTube video of someone adding various types of glitter to slime. Meanwhile they have a room full of slime that they never touch! But as we laughed about that together, Avery mentioned how cool that job would be- to literally make videos of slime and put them on YouTube. A decade ago we would’ve rolled our eyes and moved on… but today it’s not so far fetched to make a killing making ridiculous YouTube videos – that one kid that opens birthday presents made millions last year. As parents we are “supposed” to say…

August Bootcamp: Feel Great + Celebrate
Regular exercise and good nutrition is a celebration FOR your body and health, not a punishment for “being bad”. A celebration when you up your weights Celebrating new muscle definition Dropping inches or lbs or body fat % Celebrating personal victories, firsts, and leveling up in any way Victories with overcoming nutritional struggles It makes my stomach churn when I see the Monday posts that “my new diet starts today” or “I ate way too much this weekend I need to burn 3x as many calories today”. When you make it a lifestyle, and integrate the discipline with the indulgence, it’s impossible to feel “bad” or “guilty” for a weekend…

Happy Nurses Week
She wipes the butts she cleans out the tubes she answers the call button she deals with the rude She’ll tighten your gown And give you a smirk No buttcheeks left exposed Then she’s right back to work She wears all the hats She dries all the tears She holds all the hands And calms all the fears The burden she carries She carries it well She’ll come home and collapse With stories she’ll never tell She’s a hero in a cape Though she’ll brush off the recognition Because she’s here to serve And does it with conviction She interprets the orders When no one can read them She’ll sit…

Ditching the diet culture. There is more work to do.
“Doesn’t it get old??” Said the snarky message in my inbox… Does what get old?? “Posting about your “fitness journey” and talking about what you do as a coach all the time?” No and here’s why… ***drags out soapbox, clears throat *** Until women stop buying into the claim that a magic pill or spoonful of something or “waist shrinking” product, or try this powder and it magically blasts your body fat away, or “hide your cellulite with this product”… And until other women stop trying to dupe others by pushing garbage products that prey on others and continue to feed into the diet culture BS… There is more work…

30 Day Shift… Spring Clean Your Mind, Body, and Soul
What Can You Do in 30 Days… As a fitness and nutrition coach, especially this time of year, I’m often asked, “How can I get it together in time for summer?” I have two answers. First, release yourself of the stress of “getting it together” in time for summer. There’s no rule that says we have to get it together. Society puts too much pressure on having a “bikini body” for summer. Want a bikini body for summer? Put a bikini on your body. Enjoy your summer. Goal achieved. Second, focus on daily habits that create an achievable lifestyle and help you to achieve both short and long term results…

March Fit Bet is Back!
Back by popular demand! We’re kicking it up a notch for the month of March and re-launching one of my MOST favorite groups! Our MARCH FIT BET! When you bet on yourself, it’s hard to lose… This is a 30 Day Group dedicated to helping you get results and creating healthier habits that last long term. This is a great jumpstart in motivation and mindset going into the spring season. Sometimes that extra motivation is needed. We need a push, a boost, and a reason to work for those results. I’m no stranger to lack of motivation. That was me for a lot of years. I was tired of…

Cauliflower Crust Roasted Tomato Pizza
If cauliflower can become pizza… you, my friend, can do anything. Every once in a while, I pull out my chef hat, dirty every dish in the kitchen, and whip up something amazing to prove to myself I can cook much more than chicken nuggets and boxed mac and cheese. Like tonight’s cauliflower crust pizza. Oh my stars. Something about being in the kitchen, all of the aromas of delicious foods, combinations of flavors, and the whole art of cooking- I absolutely love it. And on National Pizza day it only seemed fitting to make a couple delicious pizzas from scratch! Yes, I made a traditional whole grain (yeast free)…
