Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Donuts

chocolate protein donuts, donut, protein, healthy, easy breakfast, low carb, high protein, fat loss,

It absolutely comes down to better nutrition habits. Someone once told me, you can’t get results if you eat donuts. Well, that’s a lie! You can absolutely have your cake and eat it too. Or in this case- chocolate peanut butter protein donuts!

After bringing home donuts for the kids on Saturday I’ve been craving donuts. And where I’m all for balance and eating the donut or tacos or pizza or whatever, I’m also all for making healthier swaps too!

I spent a little time in the kitchen this week working on an easy, delicious breakfast for me and Luke for the next few days.

These yummy chocolate peanut butter protein donuts turned out excellent! Simple ingredients like protein powder, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, almond flour etc- with a chocolate peanut butter glaze too!

These are yummy, dense, loaded with flavor, and make for a great breakfast or post-workout snack!

Enjoy, and please let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

3 scoops chocolate protein powder (Here’s what I use)
4 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp peanut butter
1/2 cup almond flour
1 small container vanilla Greek yogurt- reserve 2 tbsp for the glaze (I use the Chobani no sugar added)
2 tbsp organic maple syrup
1 tbsp organic cane sugar

Directions:

Mix protein, almond flour, sugar, and baking powder together in a bowl. Separately, mix eggs, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, and maple syrup. Combine ingredients- this will require some stirring as batter will be thick and sticky!

Spray a donut pan with cooking spray. Spoon batter into donut molds – this makes 6 large donuts- yes, the thick batter will hold up and fill the donut portions pretty full. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a rack for 5 minutes (I flipped my donuts over so the smooth side is up).

For the Glaze:

2 tbsp vanilla Greek yogurt
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp peanut butter
2 tbsp chocolate protein powder
(Can add a little unsweetened almond milk to thin it out)
Sprinkles optional

Mix glaze ingredients together and drizzle over donuts and enjoy!

Per Donut:
21g Protein
14g Carbs
12g Fat
