Seven Layer American Flag Dip
Every patriotic summer barbeque calls for a seven layer dip! And this is one of our favorites!
Super simple. Healthier alternative than most. And great for dipping chips or veggies too!
Ingredients:
1 tub plain Greek yogurt
2 cans refried beans (I used organic vegetarian)
1 16oz jar of salsa
Shredded romaine lettuce
Black olives, sliced
Roma tomatoes, finely diced
Taco flavored shredded cheese
Blue corn tortilla chips
Directions:
In a 13×9 baking dish, spread refried beans evenly across pan. Top with layer of salsa- 3/4- 1 c. Add layer of sliced black olives. Top olives with shredded lettuce then shredded cheese. Dice Roma tomatoes, set aside. Spoon Greek yogurt into ziplock bag with corner snipped off or use pastry piping bag. Alternate rows of Greek Yogurt and diced Roma tomatoes to make stripes. Crunch up blue corn chips for the star canton (that’s what the square in the corner is called- here’s your history lesson for the day!).
Serve with tortilla chips or slices of veggies for dipping!
