🌿🌱 21 DAY DETOX RESULTS ARE IN!!!! 🌱🌿

Oh my gosh I. Feel. Amazing!!!!!!!

In the last three weeks I am dow 8.6 pounds.

I have lost a total of  3 inches around my waist/midsection.

The amount of bloat that I’ve shed is unreal.

And I’ve either decreased or eliminated my mindless snacking, sugar cravings, dependency on that nightly handful of chocolate chips or a need for a glass of wine several nights/wk.

And I gained sooooo much knowledge about my own nutrition habits and how my body responds to food.

For the past 3 weeks I followed a food-focused nutrition and gut detox plan. I’ve eliminated sugar. Caffeine was removed. I haven’t had a cup of coffee in 3 weeks. Minus a couple glasses of wine, I eliminated alcohol. And I eliminated a lot of inflammatory foods.

I started the first week with fresh fruits and veggies, animal proteins, dairy, beans/legumes, grains, while adding in a supplement regimen of pre/probiotics to help restore my gut biome back to its original state.

During week 2 I eliminated animal proteins and focused more on plants, grains, and some really delicious vegan recipes and carried that into week 3. In week 3, I cut out grains and focused mainly on eating fresh fruits, lots of fresh, steamed, sauteed, and roasted veggies, and deliciously filling healthy fats. I finished out the last week with a gallon of water each day.

Failing to plan is planning to fail, and I fully believe this to be true.

During this reset I traveled twice. But I took the time to meal plan and prep. If we don’t set ourselves up for success it is much more challenging to reach our goals. I stuck to the program fully and tried delicious foods and recipes I never would’ve tried (the recipe guide that accompanies the program is amazing). I maintained a fitness routine doing 30 minutes of barre 5x each week too.

I’ve always been a firm believer that food is fuel and these last 3 weeks reaffirmed that fully.

The non-caffeine dependent energy I’ve had has been pretty incredible, my clothes are fitting better, my digestive system has never felt better, and momma is getting her abs back!

Why detox?

Over time the over consumption of highly acidic, inflammatory, sugary, processed foods can wreak havoc on our digestive system, impact our gut health, and cause a multitude of problems stemming back to digestion. A detox removes the impurities from our diet, resets our gut microbiome, reduces inflammation, and many conditions related to it. Plus it restores our optimal health levels.

Was this challenging to do for the last 3 weeks?

Sure. All change is challenging. But when you look at the opportunity to improve your health, it is well worth the effort and definitely drove me to succeed.

Was there a lot of prep involved?

I personally prepped a lot of my meals as I went. I followed the nutrition guide that accompanied the program and took it day by day. It is certainly doable to prep days in advance and when I traveled I did, I doubled my recipes and planned ahead accordingly. I made my grocery lists each week and sometimes broke them down to shop a couple times/week for fresh produce. Because you eliminate processed foods, there’s no additional spending for snacky type things.

Can anyone do this?

As with any program, I suggest consulting your physician. This program is a clean eating, nutritional reset. There is a slight dip in caloric intake going into the second and third week so I would not recommend this program for a pregnant or breastfeeding woman however you can adapt your nutritional intake to increase your caloric range. I personally ate the “men’s suggestion” because my muscular frame requires a bit more calories for sustainability.
