A Lot Can Happen In One Year (My 1 year Transformation)
On September 19th, 2014 I took a leap. I decided to take some steps to better my fitness. I decided I wanted to improve my nutrition, and overall health. I was almost 6 months postpartum with our third baby girl and I was doing ok. I was working out a little bit here and there. Trying to make it to the gym 3x/wk and eating as healthy as I could. I was also breastfeeding, in school part-time, was stressed to the max and just feeling like I didn’t have it all together. So why not add something else to my plate, right?!
I joined Beachbody as a coach. I wanted to inspire other moms with young kids and show them it could be done. I wanted to help others reach their goals while working on my own. I wanted to show my girls, who watched my every move, how important it was to live a healthy life and I wanted to have something for myself. I had kids pulling at my every which way, I was rushed, stressed, unkempt, and some days frumpy. I didn’t want to feel like that anymore. I wanted to feel strong, and I knew I needed strength. I started with a challenge group, 21 Day Fix, and Shakeology. I fell in love. I started seeing my body change, more than I’d seen it change in the past. I started feeling stronger, more energized, my skin was improving, my mood was improving (postpartum crankiness is what we’ll call it!), and I could see my abs again! 3 babies later and this Momma had some abs!
I decided I wanted to take it to the next level and do a competition. I started Body Beast in December and didn’t look back. One round of that and one round of 21 Day Fix Extreme and I was in the best shape of my life. I didn’t place in my competition but I did reach a huge milestone- pushing myself to a limit, setting a goal, reaching it, and being proud for taking on something I could’ve only dreamed of doing in my previous 31 years! I set my sights high and did another competition June 27th and this time with my husband! He saw my amazing results and wanted in too- he started Body Beast with me in December and completed a couple rounds and is now in the best shape of his life at 34 years old!
This journey for me isn’t just about fitness, though. Along the way, I’ve helped more than 40 people directly in my challenge groups lose a combined total of over 365lbs. I’ve sponsored more than 20 coaches and have reached my own milestones along the way. I have seen lives change, I have grown friendships with women across the country and have met people who have changed and inspired my own life. I’ve added a second income to our family while staying home and raising our girls. I put my 6 year old on the bus every day and wait for her to get off in the afternoon. I play Uno with my 3 year old. I rock my 18 month old to sleep at naptime. I have lunch with my husband in our home. Life is good.
One year in this business and I know in my heart this is where I’m supposed to be. My passion for helping others has only grown and the ability to change my life and the lives of others knows no boundaries. The sky is truly the limit. I thank God every day for the blessings he has bestowed upon our family and to allow me to do what I do. And I look forward to the next steps in this journey.
