Fitness For the Entire Family- Double Time Launch!
As a mommy, a pediatric nurse, and health and fitness coach, one of the biggest questions I am asked is, “How do I make this a healthier lifestyle for my family?” With childhood obesity rates climbing to now affecting every 1 in 6 children, we as parents need to step up and get our kids active and healthy. There are so many indoor distractions today- between phones, tv, games, miscellaneous electronics, that don’t keep our kids active. I’m always looking for new ways to be creative with my kids, with family friendly recipes, and with fitness too, and to teach them the importance of living a healthier lifestyle. I am so excited…

21 Day Fix + 3 Day Refresh Results
Ahhhhhh! That’s a WRAP! 3 weeks of workouts in the bag, nutrition on point, and ready to finish packing these bags, board that airplane, and land on the beaches of Punta Cana tomorrow afternoon. Vacation mode: ON!!! Before this trip set out, I fell into the post- New Year’s goals already met so back to eating not as healthy and drinking a few too many glasses of wine here and there… I wanted to get to WORK on knocking out a round of one of my old favorites and program that started this journey for me over 2.5 years ago. I decided I’d take it back to the…

Maple Honey BBQ Sauce
When it’s summer, we BBQ. And you know this semi-crunchy, clean eating momma just had to whip up a made-from-scratch recipe to start basting our goodies in for the grill. This was super easy, just enough zest, and is great for dipping too! Ingredients: 3 tbsp tomato paste 1 8 oz can tomato sauce 1 tbsp chili powder 1 tbsp paprika 2 tbsp pure maple syrup 2 tbsp wildflower honey 1 tsp chipotle chili powder Sea salt & ground black pepper to taste Directions: Mix all ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer 10-15 minutes. Baste meats, poultry, salmon, prior to grilling, or use for dipping! Enjoy!

Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread Pizza
If your “diet” or meal plan doesn’t call allow for pizza, you’re doing it wrong. When I start a new fitness program, when we meal prep, when we do a lot of what we do, it involves pizza. And if it can’t- well, that doesn’t make for a happy mommy! Tonight, this momma is studying and I needed an easy dinner that would fill me up. I whipped this up in minutes and baked it for 13 and voila! Daddy took the three crazy kids to the mall playground to burn some energy and scream somewhere else and this momma cracked open an ice cold La Croix, and ate…

Baked Fajita Taco Tuesday
Every Tuesday needs tacos. Today I needed tacos. Baked fajita tacos. No guilt. Enough flavor to last me until next Tuesday! We made a big batch. Homemade taco seasoning too. And we found some yummy Flat Out multigrain wraps at Costco that are only 90 calories, 18 g carbs, and 9 g protein! They made perfect soft tacos! Enjoy and feel free to share! Easy Fajita Tacos Ingredients: 5-6 medium/large chicken breasts 2 red peppers, sliced 2 green peppers, sliced 1/2 onion, sliced (optional) For the Taco Seasoning: 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp cumin 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp oregano 1/4 tsp sea salt Mix…

Buffalo Chicken Bites (Healthier Version)
Put out the buffalo chicken beacon and I’ll be the first one there! And I feel like Super Bowl is one of the best days for all things buffalo chicken. I wanted to come up with a recipe for buffalo chicken dip that was healthier and I got the idea to make them into bites, and believe me. These turned out amazing! I hope you enjoy them as much as we did! Ingredients: 4 whole wheat tortillas, cut 2-3″ round circles out with cookie cutter or mason jar lid (I find it helps to warm the tortillas in the microwave for 20 seconds) 2 large chicken breasts, thawed 1/3 cup…

Pumpkin Spice Waffles
With three kids with different preferences, I have learned that if I give into everyone’s requests I’d be a short order cook with an even shorter temper! So when one kid asks for waffles, and one kid asks for muffins, I make one big batch and put some in muffin tins and some in the waffle maker. Then everyone’s happy! This is the same recipe for my Pumpkin Chocolate Chip mini muffins but the only exception is I left out the chocolate chips. They could go either way. Or add nuts. Or sub pumpkin for banana. Or applesauce. Whatever your little one’s hearts desire! Pumpkin Spice Waffles: Ingredients: 1…
