In order to love, we must first love ourselves.  It’s true.  It’s so hard to pour from an empty cup.

But how do we fill up our own cup?  How do we love ourselves when there are so many other things getting in the way of truly being able to make ourselves a priority?

Well, that’s the thing.  We must MAKE ourselves a priority. It takes time.  It takes a conscious effort.  It takes action.  And it takes the ability to say, I am truly worth it.

1.  Positive Affirmations- say 5 things you love about yourself, store them in your phone.  Repeat them or rephrase them every morning.

2.  Write yourself a “love” note.  Open it at the end of the month.  Refer to it often.

3.  Take yourself out to dinner, alone.

4.  Put on your favorite pair of shoes, favorite jeans, and strut.

5. Ask a friend, significant other, child, parent, loved one to tell you their favorite thing about you.  Collect those things and write them down.

6.  Sweat.  Go for a run.  Knock out some cardio.  Lift heavy.  But just sweat.

7.  Take a bubble bath.  When you think it’s time to get out, add more hot water and sit for 10 more minutes.

8.  Bake yourself your favorite dessert.  Can’t bake?  Find a place that serves it and treat yo’self.

9.  Pray.  For yourself.  For your health.  For your sanity.  Or if you’re not a praying person ask the universe to send good vibes your way.

10.  Binge watch a few episodes of something that’s going to make you laugh until you cry.

11.  Splurge on the good bottle of wine at the grocery store.

12.  Sit.  Breathe.  Pause.  Stretch.

13.  Throw your earbuds in and listen to your FAVORITE music, uninterrupted.

14. Get yourself a Valentine.  Go big 🙂

15.  Have a pet?  Snuggle them.  Let them snuggle you.  Without regard.  Don’t have a pet?  Go to a shelter, borrow one from a friend, let an old puppy dog love on you for a couple minutes.

16.  Learn how to make a really good & healthy smoothie.  Make one for yourself, drink it.

17.  That painting/music/fitness class you’ve always wanted to take?  Schedule it.

18.  Give your legs a lotion rub down massage.

19.  Read The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown.  You won’t regret it.

20.  Get yo’self a good coffee mug.  One that speaks to your soul.  Sip coffee or tea from it uninterrupted.

21.  Allow yourself a day of slippers and your comfiest sweats.

22.  Send out 5 thank you notes to friends, family, just for being there for you.

23.  Schedule that hair appointment and get it done this month.

24.  Sing in your car.  Embarrassingly loud.  Who cares who’s watching.

25.  Light a few candles. Spend an evening without tv or distractions.  Read.  Journal.

26.  Cook for yourself- whatever you LOVE.

27.  Post it notes.  Those things people love about you?  Put them on post its and place them randomly throughout your house, wallet, car, closet, books.

28.  Open that “love” note you wrote yourself.  Tell yourself how incredibly strong, amazing, capable, determined, and beautiful you are.
