The Skin You’re In…

self, love, healthy, support, inspiration, fitness, postpartum, beautiful

The skin we’re in. Thick. Thin. Pale. Tan. Brown. White. Freckled. Dotted with cellulite. Lined with stretch marks. Wrinkly. Shiny. We’re so quick to judge ourselves on appearances.
But how many of us can say that we’re comfortable in that skin. That we’re getting rid of judging, and moving onto acceptance. It’s taken me a lot of years to get to this point. To be comfortable in my body. To love the cellulite and the imperfections and the wrinkles.
I didn’t always. So I decided one day to ask for help. I was tired of being tired, being self conscious, and not getting the results I wanted from the work I was only partially doing. I wanted to have stronger legs, add muscle to my stick arms, and to not be asked if I had an eating disorder. So I made a change. I got vulnerable and it pushed me to succeed.
Our “Love The Skin You’re In” group starts on 2/15/16 with a week of prep and we go full force on 2/22/16. One thing that’s helped me is surrounding myself with like minded women who are all on their own journeys, working on improving, maintaining, and being the best version of ourselves. Our monthly accountability groups are a place where women can workout in their home, share their journey, not be judged, know that other women are going through the same things, we can vent, rant, laugh, build friendships, and learn how to better take care of our bodies.
Maybe you don’t need to lose weight. Maybe you do. Maybe you’re just tired, like I was and want to make a change. Regardless, I’m here to support you and help you meet your goals. We kick off with a week of prep tomorrow and a full 30 days devoted to positive changes. It doesn’t matter how thick or thin your skin may be. It’s all about being comfortable. Finding what makes you happy.
Vulnerability is our most accurate measurement of courage. Sometimes it’s ok to ask for a little help. It may be the best decision you’ve ever made.
